1. A car crashed into Barnard's Schwinn Cyclery Thursday night, causing significant damage to the building and several bikes. The driver from Elmwood Park has been charged with DUI. Police say he fell asleep at the wheel and steered into the building at 6109 West North Ave. (ABC7)

2. The Oak Park Department of Public Health will host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic today for private school and home school students between the ages of five and 11. First doses of the pediatric vaccine will be administered at Oak Park River Forest High School. (VOP)

3. Housing Forward will continue using rooms at the Write Inn Hotel for its interim housing program for another year. The nonprofit pivoted to using hotels for transitional housing during the pandemic to allow for social distancing. (Wednesday Journal)

4. As of Nov. 1, all Forest Park police officers are equipped with body cameras, three years ahead of the state requirement. State law is requiring law enforcement agencies in smaller Illinois municipalities to use body cameras by 2025. (Forest Park Review)

5. COVID-19 cases in Illinois have surged by 29 percent this week, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. “A lot of unmasked indoor gatherings are likely part of the problem," according to Dr. Ngozi Ezike. (Patch)
