Oak Park audiences will celebrate a remarkable milestone as Chicago a cappella honors 30 years since its first Oak Park performance, Mystery, Light, and Joy in 1995. On Sunday, December 14 at 3:00 PM, the ensemble of ten singers returns to Pilgrim Congregational Church for Holidays a cappella — a program that radiates warmth, joy, and connection.
Blending timeless favorites and global gems, the concert embraces the theme warm for the holidays. The program features a signature mix of cherished classics and rare discoveries—from frosty favorites to festive music from sunnier corners of the world, including I’ll Be Home for Christmas, Let It Snow, and Good King Wenceslas, alongside Australian carols by William G. James and contemporary works by Gerald Cohen and Ross Edwards. “For us, this season is about making rich connections through music — across borders, traditions, generations, and musical styles,” says Artistic Director John William Trotter.
In partnership with the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society, this performance also supports local families through the Winter Wellness Drive, collecting essential supplies.
