Divvy Bikes Coming to Oak Park Next Year

The Chicago program is expanding to Evanston and Oak Park, thanks to a $3M state grant.

Oak Park will be getting Divvy bikes after all.

Gov. Pat Quinn, who initially rejected a grant to expand Chicago’s bike sharing program to Evanston and Oak Park, approved a $3 million state grant, according to an article in the Chicago Tribune. This will allow for eight docking stations for the blue bikes in Evanston and 12 in Oak Park.

Chicago will also expand its Divvy stations with the help of the grant, the article says. Chicago will pay $550,000 in local matching funds. Evanston and Oak Park will contribute a combined $200,000 in local money.
