1. If you missed the community feedback meeting hosted by Oak Park Catholic parishes on Oct. 4, an online recording is available to stream. More than 100 people attended the event in person and online to discuss the Renew My Church process and future of the community’s churches. (St. Giles)

2. The Oak Park Department of Public Health will host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic Oct. 12 at Central Fire Station. Eligible residents must present their Pfizer vaccine card to get a booster shot at this event; first doses will also be administered. (VOP)

3. Two Fenwick High School golfers competed this weekend at the IHSA Class 2A girls state finals at Hickory Point Golf Course in Forsyth. Sisters Lillian Bateman and Charlotte Bateman “have been consistently excellent” this season, said coach Mike Trankina. (Wednesday Journal)

4. Classic Cinemas, which owns and operates Lake Theatre along with 14 other movie theaters in the area, is in talks to acquire and renovate LaGrange Theater. The movie house on LaGrange Road has been closed since March 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. (Landmark)

5. Players and coaches from Chicago Westside Sports are featured in the first episode of the new HBO documentary series “Level Playing Field.” The series “illuminates how public policies have contributed to inequities in sports and society at large.” (Austin Weekly News)
