1. Polished Nails and Day Spa sustained $100,000 in damage from last week’s fire on Lake Street, owner Nina McCaffrey told the Sun-Times. More than $8,000 have been raised for Polished employees through a GoFundMe page; fundraising pages have also been created for Delia’s Kitchen and the residents of the apartments destroyed by the fire. 2. The Fenwick football team won its first state championship in school history Saturday. The Friars defeated Kankakee 34-15 in the IHSA Class 5A title game at Northern Illinois University. (Fenwick)

3. Parkview Presbyterian Church has closed after more than 161 years of ministry. The building at Oak Park Avenue and Jackson Boulevard dates back to 1925, but the congregation had dwindled to less than 30 members. (Wednesday Journal)

4. Oak Park trustees voted to extend the emergency powers of the village’s public health director, Theresa Chapple-McGruder. The board voted 4-3 to “allow her to continue to make ‘reasonable’ rules and regulations while the pandemic continues.” (Wednesday Journal)
