Former Oak Park Officer Accused of Defrauding Chicago Cubs
A man who was sworn in as an Oak Park police officer last year is charged with lying to the IRS.

Oak Park, IL — A former police officer with the village of Oak Park is accused of not reporting to the Internal Revenue Service money he made from sports betting and a ticket brokering business, defrauding the Chicago Cubs, the city of Chicago, Cook County and the state.
Richard Zasiebida reported his 2009 income as $148,199, which was several hundred thousand dollars less than his total income, the Chicago Sun-Times reports, citing charging documents.
Zasiebida ran Just Great Seats Inc. with another man, who is charged with mail fraud and structuring bank transactions.

Zasiebida was sworn in Sept. 28, 2015, as an Oak Park probationary police officer, along with two others. The Sun-Times reports he resigned from the Oak Park force April 27.

He is scheduled to appear in court June 29.
