1. Two boys were shot and injured Friday night in the 5800 block of West Augusta Boulevard in Austin. A 12-year-old and 13-year-old were each struck in the leg by a shooter driving a silver SUV. Both boys are in good condition after being treated at Stroger Hospital. (ABC7)

2. The Oak Park Health Department is urging residents who self-test for COVID-19 at home to confirm their results with an official test at a pharmacy or doctor’s office. “An official confirmation test allows local health officials to monitor spread in the community and serves as a reference point per quarantine rules,” the Village said via social media. 3. The Illinois House passed the long-awaited energy bill that “aims to end the state’s reliance on high-polluting fossil fuels by 2050,” WBEZ reports. The “historic” legislation, which also mandates that 40 percent of the state’s power come from wind and solar sources by 2030, is headed to Governor J.B. Pritzker’s desk. (WBEZ)

5. The annual Wright Plus Housewalk returns to Oak Park Sept. 18 after being cancelled by the pandemic in 2020.
