1. Garage burglaries continue in the Oak Park area, with five thefts reported in the final week of August. Four of the incidents occurred in unlocked garages; one was broken into in the 400 block of North Cuyler Avenue. Stolen items include lawn mowers, ladders, bicycles and tools. 2. Local nonprofit Music & Potlucks will remember the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 this Saturday with a “World Peace Concert” in River Forest. Proceeds will benefit Church of Beethoven, a nonprofit classical music series. (Music & Potlucks)
