1. The BP gas station at 100 Chicago Ave. will now close at 11 p.m. after an 18-year-old girl was shot and killed in the parking lot earlier this summer. Village Manager Kevin Jackson said Oak Park officials are now “analyzing all the 24-hour gas stations” in the village to prevent further violence. (Wednesday Journal)

2. Gov. J.B. Pritzker tested positive for COVID-19, his office announced Tuesday. The governor is vaccinated and double boosted and plans to work from home, following CDC guidelines. (Patch)

3. Only about 20 percent of Illinoisans surveyed by Patch said they continue to wear masks in public places to prevent the spread of COVID-19. That percentage is down from last summer, when 73 percent of survey respondents said they always wore masks. (Patch)
