OPRF High School Principal Lynda Parker penned another letter to parents this week regarding “student behaviors and attitudes that disrupt the learning environment.” Parker specifically mentioned expletives directed at adults and unauthorized food deliveries at lunch, among other concerns. 2. “Frustrated” River Forest officials granted a 90-day extension to developers of four-story condo and retail space at the intersection of Lake and Lathrop. “There is a long history of delays and a lack of confidence” in the project, said Katie Brennan — the only trustee to vote against the extension. 3. The OPRF Huskies and Fenwick Friars hockey teams will play a best-of-three series this weekend, with ticket sales benefiting Beyond Hunger. The Paul Hruby Cup Series puck drops at 6:30 p.m. at Franklin Park Ice Arena. (Wednesday Journal)

5. An Oak Park woman on the brink of homelessness credits local nonprofit Housing Forward with helping her find the way back from debt and struggles with mental illness.
