Man Dies After Found Bleeding In Street; 1 Charged: Maywood Police

MAYWOOD, IL — A man is charged with murder after a victim was found bleeding in the street over the weekend in Maywood, according to police.

Jhavell G. Moore, 37, of Maywood, faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death Saturday of 43-year-old Decarlos C. Armstrong, of Chicago, police said.

Officers responded around 8 p.m. to a call of a person shot in the area of 17th Avenue and Maywood Drive, where they discovered Decarlos bleeding from a gunshot wound, according to police, who said he was taken to Loyola Medical Center and pronounced dead.

An investigation quickly led authorities to Moore, who was found nearby, fled on foot, and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit, police said, adding two guns were also recovered.
