1. Maywood police are searching for a suspect connected to the murder of a Proviso East High School student. Christian Corona, 23, is wanted for the homicide of 17-year-old Dyron Underwood, who was killed Sept. 16 in Maywood. (Patch)

2. The Village of Oak Park recently settled a racial discrimination lawsuit with a former public works employee, according to a new Tribune report. Howard Stokes alleged he was fired in 2018 on the basis of race, while the village argued “he had not met performance expectations as a supervisor” and “engaged in misconduct.” The Village paid an $80,000 settlement but maintained it “engaged in no discrimination” or wrongdoing. 3. New Oak Park Trustee Cory Wesley will finish the remainder of the term left by Arti Walker-Peddakotla, who resigned over the summer. Wesley was nominated by Village President Vicki Scaman and appointed at the board’s Monday meeting. (Wednesday Journal)

4. River Forest officials issued nine property maintenance violations to the developer of a building at Lake Street and Lathrop Avenue. According to the Wednesday Journal, the builder was fined for overgrown weeds, “failure to properly guard trees” and other maintenance issues. (Wednesday Journal)
