Oak Park Arms Hosts Successful "Rock Around the Jukebox" 1950s Dance
Rock Around the Jukebox 1950s Dance drew seniors from Oak Park and surrounding communities for evening of nostalgia and camaraderie.
The Oak Park Arms was filled with the lively sounds and vibrant spirit of the 1950s on Friday, June 13, as it hosted the “Rock Around the Jukebox” dance. Seniors from the community and members of the public gathered for an evening of music, dancing, and nostalgic fun.
Attendees enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres from 5 to 6 p.m., setting the stage for an energetic night. From 6 to 8 p.m., the 18-piece orchestra, Swing Set, directed by Dave Vieitev, provided live entertainment, playing a dynamic selection of music from the 1950s, along with beloved tunes from the 1940s and 1960s.
“We were absolutely thrilled to see so many seniors from the community come out and 'Rock Around the Jukebox' with us!” said Renee Steingard, director of leasing and resident engagement at the Oak Park Arms.
