The village staff is preparing a tobacco ordinance to go before the board for an official vote.

Oak Park, IL - Members of the Oak Park Village Board have asked village staff to prepare and ordinance that would raise the age to buy tobacco products from 18 to 21.

The staff was also asked to research and recommend a fine structure for violation penalties, according to the Chicago Tribune.
