Oak Park Native Hemingway Honored By Local Bullfighters
Here's how Amateur Bullfighters of Chicago and Chicago Tauromachy are honoring Ernest Hemingway, according to oakpark.com.

OAK PARK, IL — Amateur Bullfighters of Chicago and Chicago Tauromachy are honoring Oak Park native and Ernest Hemingway, who aside from being a literary icon, had a passion for bullfighting, according to a report published on oakpark.com. Because of his admiration for bullfighting, the groups created two new bullfighting passes — the "Hemingway natural" and "Hemingway de pecho — to honor Hemingway, Oscar Lopez-Hoyos, Amateur Bullfighters of Chicago founder and Chicago Tauromachy board member, told the publication. A "pass" happens when matadors use techniques in an effort to avoid contact by a charging bull, the report added.
Hemingway's respect and love for bullfighting began when he saw his first fight in 1923 while in Pamplona, Spain.
