Oak Park Police Reports: Car Burglary, Theft, Property Damage

Oak Park police reported crimes from Jan. 8 to 11.

The following information is from the Oak Park Police Department.

Oak Park, IL - Someone damaged the aluminum gutter Jan. 7 on the southeast side of a garage in the 400 block of S. Grove. The estimated loss to damage is $500.

Someone entered an orange Honda Element between Jan. 7 and 8 through an unlocked door in the 100 block of S. Kenilworth. A white Kate Spade wallet containing an Illinois driver’s license and debit/credit cards, a black purse containing house keys, wallet and cash and a wallet containing cash, an Ohio ID card, debit/credit cards were taken. The estimated loss is $160.

Someone entered a white Acura between Jan. 7 and 8 through an unlocked door in the 400 block of S. Kenilworth. A set of office and house keys were taken. The estimated loss is $200.

Someone entered a garage between Jan. 7 and 8 in the 200 block of Home through the unlocked side service door. An unknown amount of cash was taken from an unlocked Silver Toyota Sienna and a Silver Hyundai Sonata.

Someone entered a gray Jeep Cherokee through an unlocked door between Jan. 7 and 8 in the 1100 block of Pleasant and removed a pair of black Ray Ban sunglasses, a black cell phone, a white Beats by Dre charger, a white i-Phone charger, a black leather Pelle Pelle coat, a brown Versace gym bag, a pair of white/red/blue gym shoes and two pairs of gym shorts. The estimated loss is $1,950.

Keenan M. Durr, 32 of the 6900 block of S. Paxton Avenue in Chicago, was arrested Jan. 8 and charged for a Nov. 21 theft.

Rachel J. Mautner, 19 of the 6500 block of 34th Street in Berwyn, was arrested Jan. 8 and charged for driving while license suspended after she was involved in a traffic crash in the 7200 block of Augusta in River Forest.

Someone damaged three HVAC units between Dec. 16 and Jan. 7 on the roof of a building in the 6000 block of Roosevelt. The metal housing and copper parts were removed. The estimated loss to damage is $15,150.

Someone damaged the door to a storage shed between Jan. 4 and 6 on the south Metra platform in the 1100 block of North boulevard.

A man entered a business Jan. 8 in the 300 block of Madison and took four bottles of Patron vodka from the display shelf, hid them in a plastic bag and left without paying. The estimated loss is $95.96. The man is described as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build, 45-60 years, wearing a tan knit hat, camouflage hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white gym shoes.

A 17-year-old boy met with someone Jan. 9 in the 500 block of South Ridgeland for a prearranged sale of a pair of white gmp 6 gym shoes with gold trim. The boy began to walk away with the shoes without paying while lifting his shirt to reveal a black gun in his waistband. The estimated loss is $180.

A man approached a woman from behind while she was jogging Jan. 10 in the 500 block of Garfield and tried to talk to her. The man grabbed her bottom and her breast. He is described as in his 20s, 6 feet tall, thin, wearing a dark running jacket with an orange zipper, dark jogging pants, sneakers and a dark skull cap.

Jesse C. Williams III, 48 of the 5000 block of W. Jackson in Chicago, was arrested Jan. 10 and charged with retail theft after he was positively identified as the offender who hid deodorant and left a store in the 300 block of Madison without paying.

Emmanuel N. Rodriguez, 23 of the 4800 block of W. Bryn Mawr in Chicago, was arrested Jan. 10 and charged with aggravated drunken driving while suspended, DUI alcohol and drugs, driving under the influence, driving while license suspended and traffic as a result of a traffic crash investigation in the 200 block of S. Oak Park.
