Oak Park Seeking Applicants for Mental Health Board

The deadline to apply for the community board is Nov. 21.

Oak Park Township is looking for applicants for its Community Mental Health Board.

Applicants can have professional backgrounds in mental health service or simply an interest in the quality, availability and funding of mental health services, the village announced in its newsletter. However, the Township Supervisor does favor candidates who have experience in social services or other related fields.

Volunteers serve a four-year term on the board and assist in decisions about how Oak Park funds are allocated among local agencies to address mental illness, developmental disability and alcohol and substance abuse.
