Oak Park Service Member Recognized at Bulls Game by BMO Harris Bank
Petty Officer Michael Lennox was recognized as an "honorary captain" at a Chicago Bulls game.

Chicago, IL - BMO Harris Bank, in partnership with the Chicago Bulls, have recognized Petty Officer Michael Lennox and Lieutenant Colonel Jason Burkett through the bank’s “Military Moments” program.
The service members were publicly honored for their military accomplishments and service, at the Jan. 20 Chicago Bulls game.

The bank’s “Military Moments” program recognizes local military members during the opening ceremony of a Chicago Bulls game. After taking part in the “Honorary Captains meeting” with the referees and the team captains, the service members are featured on the United Center’s scoreboard and participate in the singing of the national anthem.
“For the past five years, our ‘Military Moments’ program has placed military members’ center court, highlighting their commitment to serving our country,” said Alex Dousmanis-Curtis, Group Head, U.S. Retail and Business Banking, BMO Harris Bank. “The program aims to assist, recognize, and honor our service members who are true heroes in our communities.”

United States Coast Guardsman Maritime Enforcement Specialist First Class Michael Lennox is a native of Oak Park, Illinois, and currently serves with the Marine Safety Unit, Chicago. He has deployed in support of relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy and abroad to Haiti, Cuba and Iraq. He has earned three Coast Guard and Army Achievement Medals in recognition of his service.
United States Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Jason Burkett has deployed in support of Operations Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. He has earned the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two Gold Stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one Gold Star and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal in Recognition of his service. Lieutenant Colonel Burkett currently serves as the inspector-instructor for the 3rd Civil Affairs Group in Great Lakes, Illinois.
