OPFR High School Students To Start Year With Remote Learning
Here are the remote start dates for Oak Park River Forest High School freshmen and upperclassmen.
OAK PARK, IL — Oak Park and River Forest High School students and staff will kick off the 2020-2021 school year remotely. According to school documents, Oak Park and River Forest High School's "Huskie Kick Off Day" for freshmen students is Aug. 18. All students connect to remote learning on Aug. 19.
Administrators will reconvene with the board Monday, and questions can be submitted online beforehand.
The school's Learning Plan for Semester 1, put together by school administrators, call for plans significantly different from what students experienced this spring, Superintendent Dr. Joylynn Pruitt-Adams said.

The superintendent added that their summer school classes have already implemented some of the elements listed above.

"We’ve received significant positive feedback on how much better students are doing with summer courses than the spring experience," Pruitt-Adams wrote, in the update.
Last month, school officials released a report on the results of the Thoughtexchange survey. The report can be viewed on the school's website.
Administrators developed a FAQ posted on the school's website to address common questions they've received about the plans for fall.
