“With every school that I visit I’m reminded of the passion that the students, faculty and administrators have for providing a quality education,” said Lilly. “We all want what’s best for them, and that is why I am fighting for more resources for our schools down in Springfield.”
Lilly toured Passow Elementary School to visit classrooms, engage with students and to speak with the faculty about issues facing the school and community. Lilly and the faculty discussed the state’s education funding formula and talked about the particular needs of the district, including opportunities to engage students in history, art and civic courses.
“I am always amazed at what our children are learning and the creative ways our teachers educate students,” said Lilly. “The public, legislators and community organizations are all discussing the importance of education funding, and I’m more than willing to sit down and discuss ways to provide a quality education for each and every one of our students throughout our state.”
