Lilly spoke with the staff at Thrive to understand the work that the non-profit performs for individuals seeking assistance. Staff from the center also spent time expressing the challenges they are facing financially due to the lack of a state budget. The non-profit strives to build healthy minds and and to empower people to strengthen their mental and emotional well-being, serving Oak Park and other communities since 1898.

“In Springfield, we must continue our efforts to protect the most vulnerable residents, especially those that are mentally ill,” Lilly said. “Organizations, like Thrive, that are able to provide mental health awareness and care should not be the victim of drastic budgets cuts.”
