River Forest Police Reports: Retail Theft, Bike Theft
River Forest police reported incidents from April 23 to 28.

At 4:07 p.m. April 22, officers were dispatched to 7929 W. North Ave, CVS Pharmacy, for a retail theft in progress. According to store security, a person had fled the store after taking $148 worth of Knob Creek Whiskey. Security provided store video footage and the license plate number of the fleeing car. On April 23, officers found the person on the 7100 block of Grand Avenue in Chicago. James D. Dalcerro, 52 years old of Schiller Park, was taken into custody. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Felony Review Unit was contacted and they approved one count of felony retail theft.
At 4:28 p.m. April 23, officers were sent to Keystone Park for a bike theft. The victim said her Cannondale bicycle had been taken from the seating area of the baseball field. The bike was unlocked at the time of the incident. It was valued at about $2,000. Two juvenile witnesses reported seeing a person wearing a reflective vest, a backpack and blue jeans riding off with the bike.

At 6:10 p.m. April 24, officers were sent 7525 W. Lake, Jewel Foods, for a retail theft in progress. The offender had left the store with $350 worth of liquor products. The person entered a car that fled eastbound on Lake Street. The responding officers found the car at Lake Street and Harlem. Michael Palmore, 48 of Chicago, was taken into custody and the proceeds were recovered. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Felony Review Unit was contacted and they approved one count of felony retail theft.
At 10:25 a.m. April 26, officers responded to 7357 W. North Ave, Grand Medical Center, for a theft of a purse. The victim said someone removed a purse containing $125 cash from a conference room in the business. There were no witnesses and no security footage available for this incident.
