River Forest Police Reports: Theft, DUI, Reckless Driving
River Forest police reported incidents from March 2 to 8.

At 6:19 p.m. March 2, an officer was dispatched to Concordia University, 7400 W. Augusta, for a theft of cash. Security said someone had removed an envelope containing $505 cash from the Koehneke Community Center. There were no witnesses or security footage of the theft.
At 12:09 a.m. March 4, an officer saw a car commit several traffic violations in the area of North Ave and Lathrop. The driver, Pierre R. Anderson, 32 of Chicago, exhibited signs of intoxication. Anderson failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. At the station, a Breathalyzer test revealed that Anderson’s BAC was .190, which is over twice the legal limit of .08. Anderson was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, and several traffic violations.

At 9:28 p.m. March 4, officers responded to a car crash involving injuries and a rollover on the 7500 block of North Ave. The driver of one of the cars, Juan Martinez, 37 of Berwyn, showed signed of intoxication. Martinez was taken to the hospital for possible injuries. Martinez refused to submit to a DUI kit. Martinez was charged with DUI, no valid insurance, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and several other traffic violations.
At 5:17 a.m. March 5, officers responded to Chicago Avenue and Lathrop for a person apparently passed out at the wheel in the intersection. Upon arrival, officers saw both the driver and a passenger asleep in the car. Once the driver had been woken up by officers, she attempted to drive away. The driver, Aisha D. Anderson, 26 of Chicago, showed signs of intoxication, and there was a strong smell of burnt cannabis coming from the car. For Anderson’s safety, she was taken into custody for field sobriety tests. Anderson failed three of four sobriety tests, including a portable Breathalyzer tester, which showed a 0.13 BAC reading. An additional Breathalyzer test was taken, and Anderson’s BAC was .139, which is over the legal standard of .08. Anderson was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, and several traffic violations.

At 10:15 a.m. March 7, an officer saw a car speeding and swerving in and out of traffic lanes on the 8000 block of Madison. Radar confirmed the car was going 58 mph in a 25 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was unable to show a driver’s license or insurance. A computer check revealed that the driver, a 17-year-old juvenile from Forest Park, had a driver’s license on file but no insurance. The juvenile was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor reckless driving and speeding 33 mph over the posted speed limit, along with other traffic violations.
At 5:51 p.m. March 8, an officer responded to a business in the 7400 block of W. Lake for reports of a wallet theft. The employee related her wallet was removed from her purse sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. The wallet had been left in one of the exam rooms. The loss was credit cards, a driver’s license and $100 cash.
