1. Staff and volunteers at Rush Oak Park are now required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 1. Rush University System for Health announced the mandate July 26 to “help safeguard members of our community who are at the highest risk of developing serious disease from the coronavirus,” according to a hospital statement. 2. A former Chicago Public Schools official will serve as superintendent for the Archdiocese of Chicago beginning Aug. 16. Greg A. Richmond worked for CPS for more than 10 years and will now oversee operations of more than 160 Catholic schools and 45,000 students across Chicagoland.(Daily Herald)

3. Pioneer Press reports “several parties” are interested in the seven-acre Priory Campus property owned by Dominican University, including Oak Park and River Forest High School. The University is asking for letters of intent by July 31 from those interested in purchasing the land, valued at $8 million. (Oak Leaves)

4. Fenwick High School graduate Ryan Fitzgerald is “putting himself on the map” as a shortstop in the Boston Red Sox minor league system, batting .283 in 67 games, with the second-most RBI among shortstops in the Northwest League. (Oak Leaves)
