Here are the top stories today in Oak Park-River Forest:

1. The Oak Park Department of Public Health will host vaccine clinics this week at all eight local elementary schools to vaccinate students five and older. A separate event will be held Nov. 13 for private school and home school students. (VOP)

2. Berwyn music venue FitzGerald’s is closed this weekend due to COVID-19 cases among staff members. Owner Will Duncan expects the club and restaurant to reopen later this week. (Wednesday Journal)

3. Sugar Beet Food Co-op was called “a pioneer of Chicago co-op culture” in a recent WGN feature on local cooperatives. The community-owned grocery store is now taking Thanksgiving turkey orders through Nov. 18. (WGN9)

4. River Forest crews are working to update four alleys in the village this year to improve drainage and smooth out driving surfaces. Work will continue on an additional 14 alleyways in 2022, according to the November newsletter. (VRF)

5. Austin’s all-boys Chicago Jesuit Academy will officially expand to build an additional elementary school for girls. The $25 million project will “add to the community fabric,” Ald. Jason Ervin said. (Austin Weekly News)
