Here are the top stories today in Oak Park-River Forest:

1. The tires were slashed on 11 vehicles in River Forest in the early morning hours of Sept. 17, police said in a community bulletin. damaged cars were parked on North Avenue between Thatcher and Ashland. It appears to be an isolated incident. (RFPD)

2. Oak Park District 97 is making plans to meet the state’s vaccine mandate requirements. District employees who are not fully vaccinated by Sept. 19 will be tested twice a week. (Wednesday Journal)

3. Plan ahead for Oak Park Fall Fest, which will take place one week from today on at the newly-renovated Rehm Park and the Oak Park Conservatory. Entertainment, food, a pumpkin patch and more will be onsite at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (Paid source: Oak Leaves)

4. The final stretch of paving on Oak Park Avenue is expected to be completed this week. Crews will be installing traffic control markings along the route between Roosevelt Road and North Avenue. (VOP)
