1. A toddler was accidentally shot and injured Thursday night at an Austin home. An adult resident is facing child endangerment charges as he “was trying to holster his gun when it accidentally discharged,” according to Chicago police. The three-year-old is in good condition. (ABC)
2. Less than 16 percent of Chicagoans have received the updated bivalent booster to protect against omicron subvariants of COVID-19, the City reports. The Oak Park Department of Public Health will host vaccine clinics Dec. 6 and 13 at Cheney Mansion. (VOP)
3. Metra will increase service during peak times for passengers in Oak Park, River Forest, Maywood and more. New schedules begin tomorrow and “represent something of a return to pre-pandemic service levels.” (AWN)
4. More front porch package thefts were reported last week in Oak Park. Two sets of wireless headphones valued at more than $75 were stolen at separate residences Nov. 30. A wallet and catalytic converter were also reported stolen in the most recent Oak Park Police Department summary report. (OPPD)
