Dyanla Rainey helped lead the Marshall Metropolitan girls basketball team to the 2018 Class 2A state title, the Chicago Tribune reported.

MAYWOOD, IL — Police are seeking the public’s help to find a car that was involved in the recent killing of a former high school basketball star, authorities said.
Dyanla Rainey, 22, was fatally shot the afternoon of July 24 while standing in her driveway in the 700 block of South Sixth Avenue in Maywood, according to police. Rainey helped lead the Marshall Metropolitan High School girls basketball team to the 2018 Class 2A state title, according to the Chicago Tribune, which reported that Rainey’s boyfriend, Tyran Patterson, characterized the killing as “really random.”
The vehicle police are looking for is a 2003 Buick Regal with the Illinois license plate BE25791, although the plates may have been changed, authorities said. The car is black with gray trim, four doors and dark tinted windows, according to police. It was recently seen on Chicago’s West Side as well as in North Riverside, Cicero, Berwyn, Broadview, Maywood, Forest Park, Melrose Park and Bellwood, police said.
