Willard Student on Bike Hit by Vehicle Outside Roosevelt School

The fourth grader was shaken, but she walked away from the Thursday afternoon incident, officials say.

Oak Park, IL - A vehicle hit a Willard fourth grade student who was biking to a Roosevelt Readiness class Thursday around the time of dismissal.

Superintendent Ed Condon said in an email to the District 90 community that the student was shaken, but she was able to walk away from the scene with her parent.

The collision took place on the Lathrop sidewalk outside Roosevelt School, and an ambulance was called.

"...we knew that families would be concerned about the child’s well being and wanted to inform you about her condition as soon as possible," Condon wrote.
