Homeowners Escape Smoke, Garage Fire Put Out: Orland Fire
The garage fire happened Friday around 11:30 p.m. in the 15200 block of Stradford Lane in Orland Park.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Homeowners escaped uninjured, and firefighters stopped a garage fire from consuming an Orland Park home Friday night.
The Orland Fire District responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a fire in a garage in the 15200 block of Stradford Lane Friday at 11:34 pm.
The elderly homeowners escaped the home and called 911, Orland Fire Protection District spokesman Ray Hanania said.

Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage of the single family, ranch home. The fire had already extended from the garage and was quickly spreading into the attic of the garage, fire district officials said.
A full still alarm was called to provide additional manpower and equipment to the scene and to back-fill Orland stations.

Firefighters made a blitz attack, deploying two pre-connect hose lines preventing the fire from extending into the main part of the home. The fire was contained to the garage by fire companies, but smoke did extend into the home.
The homeowners escaped the fire and called 911. They were evaluated at the scene and then taken to Palos for further evaluation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Orland Fire District Origin and Cause Team. The home is currently uninhabitable.
Other departments providing coverage and manpower included Palos Fire, Tinley Park Fire, Lemont Fire, Oak Forest and North Palos Fire Districts as well as change companies from neighboring departments.
