Orland Park Police Blotter: Man Brought Prescription Drugs Along for a Theft

TUESDAY, NOV. 20

No Explanation Crash

Police were called about a two-car car accident in the 7100 block of 159^th Street around 5:45 p.m. A woman told police she was driving west on 159^th Street when the light at Harlem Avenue turned green, and was rear-ended while she started driving through, police said. Police smelled alcohol on the breath of the man responsible for the accident, and the man couldn’t explain what happened, according to the report. The man first denied drinking, but later admitted to it and failed field sobriety tests, police said. Adrian S. Pisczek, 19, of the 14700 block of Montgomery Drive in Orland Park, was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving an uninsured vehicle and driving under the influence of alcohol.

MONDAY, NOV. 19

Warrant Arrest

Police were called by the Sauk Village Police Department about a woman in custody with an active Orland Park warrant around 8:45 p.m. Sharon C. Kelly, 41, of the 15500 block of Gouwens Street in South Holland, was arrested on a warrant for unlawful use of a credit card.

Warrant Arrest

Police pulled over a car for speeding near 163^rd Street and LaGrange Road around 4:20 a.m. The vehicle’s windshield was cracked, the driver didn’t have a driver’s license on him and he admitted to driving 55 mph in a 45 mph zone, police said. Anthony Alderson, 34, of the 1500 block of Fairview Avenue in Chicago Heights, was charged with driving with a revoked license, speeding, driving without a rear registration light, driving with a defective windshield, driving an uninsured vehicle and he was arrested on a warrant for a traffic offense out of Dolton.

SATURDAY, NOV. 17

Pills in Shoe

Police were called about a man held for retail theft at JCPenney around 12:30 p.m. Security said a man was seen taking a tshirt and a hat, and placing them in a shopping bag before leaving the store without paying, according to the report. Police found four blue pills in a Ziplock bag in the man’s shoe while he was searched, according to the report. The hat and shirt are worth $40, and the pills were suspected of being oxycodone, police said. Kevin J. Zambo, 24, of the 9100 block of Lunar Court in Orland Park, was charged with retail theft and felony possession of a controlled substance.

FRIDAY, NOV. 9

Arm-To-Bag

Police officers working retail theft detail at Orland Square Mall were told about people acting suspiciously at The Children’s Place around 3:35 p.m. Police then saw a woman with two shopping bags and a purse on her arm walk into the store and select items, draping them over her arm, according to the report. The woman was then seen kneeling down, and stood up without the items on her arm, police said. The woman then left the store with one of the plastic bags looking fuller, according to the report. The woman was found with $316.70 of merchandise and she gave police a false name at first, according to the report. Tasia K. Ford, 24, of the 4000 block of Oakenwald Avenue in Chicago, was charged with theft and obstructing identification.
