A 42-year-old Tinley Park man was stopped on May 25 and charged with drunken driving, according to police.

SATURDAY, MAY 25
'One Beer With a Guy After Work'
James G. Adams, 42, of the 8500 block of Westberry Lane, Tinley Park, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, speeding and driving with a loud muffler, according to an Orland Park police report.
At about 1:06 a.m., police on patrol spotted a yellow Acura with a dual exhaust system accelerate from a green light and hit 62 mph in a 40 mph zone before they pulled it over in the 8400 block of 159th Street, the report states. The driver, Adams, reportedly apologized to the cop, whom he did not see. Adams had his son in the front seat with him and the two were headed home after work.
During the stop, an officer allegedly smelled alcohol on driver's breath and asked him if he had been drinking, according to the report. Adams denied it and consented to a breath test. He was asked to get out of the vehicle and denied drinking for a second time.
The cop said he could smell the alcohol on Adam's breath, according to the report. Adams then told the officer that he "maybe" had one "with a guy, after work, but just one beer." Police placed him under arrest when he completed taking field sobriety tests.
Adams was charged and set to appear on June 13 in Bridgeview court.
