Symphony Orchestra Brings Sounds Of The Season To Orland Park

The Southwest Symphony Orchestra has two concerts planned for Dec. 9 and 10 in Orland Park.

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Southwest Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the holiday season, with two upcoming shows in Orland Park.

On Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m., the orchestra, under the direction of David L. Crane, presents a program titled Holiday Harmonies at St. Michael, 14327 Highland Ave.

They'll follow it up with a second show Sunday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi, 15050 Wolf Rd. Both concerts will include the combined music ministries of St. Michael and St. Francis.

"These collaborations between the SSO and local music makers have become a regular Christmas season tradition and enjoyed by all that attend," the orchestra said in a release. "The final song is a joyful rendition of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. All participants and audience members are invited to raise their voices in jubilation! Join us and start the Christmas season in musical harmony!"

Ticket prices for both concerts are $23 for adults/seniors, $7 for students, children 10 and under are free. Tickets would make great holiday gifts. Both concerts are partially supported by the Illinois Arts Council. Ticket supplies are dwindling for the St. Francis of Assisi concert.
