D135 Makes Hundreds of Snowflakes for Sandy Hook Victims
Orland School District 135 answered the call to help ease Sandy Hook Elementary School students’ transition to a different building for the second half of the school year by making snowflakes.
Prosecutors asked Judge Peter Felice to raise or revoke the $150,000 bond given to former Chicago Ridge Deputy Fire Chief Gary Swiercz, 49, who is accused of the attempted rape and murder of his Tinley Park neighbor.

Darrin Carter, 35, pleaded guilty Tuesday to armed robbery of an Orland Park jewelry store in October 2011, where the store's owner and a staff member were threatened with a gun and bound with duct tape as the robbery took place.

The next court date for a man and a woman accused of carjacking an Orland Park restaurant employee with a BB gun could determine whether the pair will go to trial or consider a deal.
