2 Hit-And-Runs Reported Tuesday In Oswego: Police

The driver who fled in one of the crashes was caught and issued a citation, police said.

OSWEGO, IL — Two hit-and-run crashes were reported Tuesday afternoon in Oswego, police said.

One collision occurred at 2:08 p.m. near Route 34 and Kendall Point Drive, and the second happened at about 2:32 p.m. by Wolf Road and Route 30, according to Wednesday's blotter.

In the first crash, a driver told police that a white Mercedes coupe sideswiped the rear driver's side bumper while lane changing on eastbound Route 34, approaching Kendall Point Drive. The driver then fled eastbound "at a high rate of speed," officials said.

The blotter lists the case as closed.

About 20 minutes later, officers were called for the second hit-and-run. A car was heading north on Route 30 when it struck a car traveling west on Wolf Road, according to the blotter. Police located the driver, a 19-year-old man from Aurora, and issued him a citation along with a notice to appear in court.
