3 Corrections Deputies Hired At Kendall County Sheriff's Office

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office has hired three deputies to fill vacancies in the corrections division.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has hired three deputies to fill vacancies in the Corrections Division. Drew Despain, Jacob Adaya, and Ryan Navarro were sworn in on Monday, June 16, 2025, by Undersheriff Bobby Richardson.

Deputies Despain, Adaya, and Navarro will attend the eight-week Correctional Officer Training Program at the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy, beginning July 21. In the meantime, they will complete an office acclimation phase. Upon completion of the training academy, they will be paired with experienced field training officers for a rigorous 11-week field training program.

Deputy Despain earned an associate degree in Criminal Justice from Waubonsee Community College and attended the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Youth Academy in 2022 before joining the agency.

Deputy Adaya earned an associate degree in Criminal Justice from Waubonsee Community College and is currently a Sergeant in the U.S. Army National Guard, where he has served since 2021. He also worked in security at Rush Copley Hospital prior to joining the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Navarro earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Carolina University and completed a law enforcement internship with the Yorkville Police Department before joining the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
