4,700 Grams Of Meth Lands Plano Man 15-Year Sentence: Weis
The man was arrested after police intercepted a FedEx package that contained 4,700 grams of methamphetamine, officials said.
OSWEGO, IL — A Plano man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for possessing and intending to deliver methamphetamine, according to the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office.
Shaylan Preston, 30, negotiated a plea deal for the Class X felony, officials said in a news release Wednesday.
Police intercepted a FedEx package containing about 4,700 grams of meth, its final destination listed as an address in Plano.

While under surveillance, members of the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team made the delivery, and Preston eventually arrived at the residence to take the package to his car. Police later stopped the car, and Preston admitted he was delivering the drugs to another person, according to a news release from State's Attorney Eric Weis.
The man, of Foli Street in Plano, was arrested and put on GPS home confinement until his sentencing. Preston will be required to serve 75 percent of his 15-year sentence followed by 18 months of mandatory supervised release.

Officials did not say when Preston was arrested or when the investigation into him began. Weis did not respond to Patch's request for comment at the time of publication.
