4 Men Charged In Connection To 2024 Burglaries Of Oswego Businesses

The men, from Chicago, Berwyn and Mount Prospect, were charged after an "extensive months-long investigation."

OSWEGO, IL — Four Oswego men were charged in connection to burglaries that occurred in June, July and December 2024 at two Oswego businesses, police said Thursday.

The men were each charged with three counts of felony burglary:

  • Gamaliel Garcia Jr., 23, of the 5000 block of West Huron Street in Chicago
  • Adrian A. Zavala, 23, of the 2100 block of Wenonah Avenue in Berwyn
  • Diego G. Lopez, 23, of the 2300 block of South Lexington Street in Mount Prospect
  • Elliot J. Myers, 22, of the 4100 block of North Monitor Avenue in Chicago

The four men entered two businesses — Pizza Cucina twice and Lacey's once — by breaking glass doors and then stole cash from gaming ATMs inside, according to a news release from Oswego police.

After an "extensive months-long investigation," charges and warrants for the men's arrests were issued on May 9, and the suspects were arrested separately in May and June by the Cook County Sheriff's Office, the Chicago Police Department and the Kane County Sheriff's Office. Each was processed by the respective agency.

The Illinois Gaming Board provided "valuable" assistance in the investigation, Oswego police said.
