54 Percent of Kendall Co. Coronavirus Patients Are In Recovery

County health officials report a total of 781 coronavirus cases as of Thursday.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — In a news release on Thursday the Kendall County Health Department reported a total of 781 confirmed coronavirus cases in the county.

The total number of county residents to have died remained at 22, as of Thursday, and 4i7 county residents were listed as in recovery from COVID-19.

The Kendall County Coroner's Office wrote in a social media statement Wednesday that as of May 27, there have been no additional coronavirus-related deaths reported within Kendall County. The last reported death due to COVID-19 was on May 9.

The statement also said there will be no more weekly updates regarding COVID-19 related deaths from the coroner's office.

According to Illinois Department of Public Health data by ZIP code, there have been 567 people tested for COVID-19 in 60548 with 70 confirmed cases, 868 tested in 60545 with 135 confirmed cases, 940 tested in 60560 with 87 confirmed cases, 1,575 tested in 60538 with 271 confirmed cases and 1,623 tested in 60543 with 229 confirmed cases as of Thursday.

State health officials on Thursday announced 1,527 new cases of the coronavirus and 104 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. The statewide total now stands at 115,833 confirmed infections and 5,186 known deaths.
