Beverly J (Olsen) Taylor, age 80, of Oswego, IL passed peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Bickford Senior Living in Oswego, IL. She was born May 2, 1931 in Chicago, IL the daughter of her beloved father Andrew Olsen and dear mother Leona (Schetter) Olsen.
Bev spent her childhood climbing trees and canoeing on Tower Lakes in Barrington, IL. She spoke fondly of her many friends and the simple life they enjoyed during those years. On December 27, 1950 she was united in marriage to Albert L Taylor. Bev’s favorite job was working a switchboard in Chicago, she loved the bustle of the city almost as much as the quiet of the country. She worked various jobs, including office manager at the Dairyland Insurance office in Aurora, IL. Bev had an amazing ability to teach others, whether it was helping friends in school, training fellow employees or sharing songs and nature walks with her grandchildren. She was a staunch believer in equality for everyone, regardless of race, religion or orientation and she was proud to have lived long enough to see President Obama voted into office.
