I am an Eagle Scout Candidate with Bristol Troop 34 and I am partnering with the Kendall County Food
Pantry for a very worthwhile service project to help the youth of our community and I would like to
enlist your help.
My project is to promote education to students in Middle School who are clients of the Kendall County
Food Pantry. I am requesting donations from sponsors such as you to be able to raise funds to purchase
Netbooks for middle school students of our county. I plan on conducting an educational class teaching
aspects of computer skills including an overview of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. At the conclusion
of the class, students will be receiving a Netbook to keep for home and school use. The criteria for
receiving these Netbooks will be predetermined based on need, class attendance, and various other
requirements determined by the Kendall County Food Pantry. These children would not ordinarily be
given this opportunity. With low math and reading test scores reported by Yorkville High School, these
Netbooks will provide these Yorkville Middle School students with a way to improve their test scores.
With your monetary contribution of $300, I can make this happen. Please send your donation written
to the Kendall Country Food Pantry, 1204 Deer Street, Yorkville, IL 60560 by Friday, February 25, 2011.
On the memo section of your check, please note: Brandon Beerup/Eagle Scout. Your donation will be
tax deductible and a receipt will be mailed to you. My goal is to provide a minimum of 6-12 Netbooks
to students in need. I will be working with Maria Spaeth, the Executive Director of the Kendall County
Food Pantry to help the children of the surrounding communities achieve their educational goals.
I want to personally thank you for enabling me to make this education goal a reality and touching the
lives of youth in our community.
Respectfully yours,
Brandon Beerup
