George A Carpenter Passes

George A Carpenter, age 68, of Montgomery, IL died Friday, April 20, 2012 at his residence. 

He was born March 19, 1944 in Aurora, IL the son of the late George E and Lydia M nee Seidelman Carpenter.   George was an avid automotive/truck enthusiast his entire lifetime. He was actively involved in the early years of monster trucks building, promoting and entertaining many spectators around the country. He was the owner/operator of “Megasaurus” and the “Nightmare Haunted House” which thrilled many a spectator during their respective performances. He was also a licensed electrician in the area for many years.   

George is survived by his wife Kathleen M nee Murphy Carpenter, three children Bridget ((Kevin) Didier of Montgomery, IL, Rob (Patti) Carpenter of Oswego, IL, Tara (Tom) Sutherland of Newark, IL; six grandchildren Stone Carpenter, Megan (Matt) Ketchmark, Molly (Andrew Alegria) Didier, Patrick, Kelsie and Shannen Sutherland; soon to be announced two great grandchildren; four sisters Deanna Brown of Plano, IL, Cheryl (James)Hounshell of Sheridan, IL, Janis Olson of Oswego, IL, Peggy (Peter) Tutor of Yorkville, IL and his ever faithful companion dogs McKenna and Spanky.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Don Olson.   

A gathering and celebration of George’s life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 starting at 5:00 PM at Ralph’s Place 2245 Kennedy Rd Bristol, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice in George’s memory.   Arrangements were entrusted to  in Oswego, IL.
