There was a fine turnout for US Congressman Randy Hultgren's (14th District) address to the Aurora Council of the Navy League last Tuesday evening. He covered a wide variety of topics, including the economy, federal spending, job creation, agriculture, transportation, R&D, energy, and the role of small business in our economy. He noted that he grew up with a small business his parents owned, and appreciates the major role of job creation that small businesses perform in the country.
After his address he was asked many wide-ranging questions that covered national, state, and local issues.
In the current 112th Congress, Randy serves on three committees and nine subcommittees: the Agriculture Committee (Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities and Risk Management; the Subcommittee on Rural Development, Research, Biotechnology, and Foreign Agriculture; and the Subcommittee on Conservation, Energy and Forestry); the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee (Subcommittee on Aviation; the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management; and the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials); and, the Committee on Science, Space and Technology (Subcommittee on Investigations & Oversight; the Subcommittee on Research & Science Education; and the Subcommittee on Technology & Innovation).
