Jeanne Marie Burton, age 77, of Oswego, IL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 21, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL.
She was born July 31, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of the late Alexander T and Noreen nee Mandeville McCaughn. She was a longtime member of St Luke’s Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL, where she was involved in many activities over the years, including the leader of the Seniors Bible Study Group for over 15 years.
Prior to her retirement she was employed as a sales associate at Sear’s, Plunkett Furniture as well as a receptionist at Thermal Ceramics and River View Ford.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years Ralph “Glenn” Burton, two daughters Connie Burton of Princeton, IL, Gail Burton of Northfield, IL, a son Jeff (Linda) Burton of Montgomery, IL; five grandchildren Alicia and Krysta Burton, Gary (Jeannie) Pekoc, Charlie (Tiffany) Pekoc, Katie (Tabor Troutman, fiance) Burton; five great grandchildren Katelyn Stanfield, Grace, Abbie, Hailey and Shelbey Pekoc; a brother Thomas McCaughn; an aunt Birdine Steinmetz, cousin Bill Guerten, several niece and nephews, as well as many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother Michael McCaughn.

Jeanne’s passion was her family and her home. She had a flair for interior decorating. This is evident in her home. Every corner of the home has her touch on it. Holidays were always a special occasion for Jeanne and her family. This was because of her great dinners and decorations though out the home.
A gathering of family/friends will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 10:00 AM until a memorial service at 12:00 Noon at St Luke’s Lutheran Church 63 Fernwood Rd Montgomery, IL with Rev Peter Hoffman officiating.Cremation was accorded the wishes of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St Luke’s Lutheran ChurchC/O parking lot repaving fund. Arrangements are entrusted to DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY of Oswego, IL for information 630-554-8484.
