OHS Teacher Retiring After 39 Years in Education

The following announcement was provided by colleagues of Mary Kant.

Mary Kant began her teaching career in Ripon, Wisconsin in 1972 as a Biology and physical education teacher.

Six years later she moved to Oswego High School where she began educating students in physical education. Mary also coached for a number of her 33 years at OHS.

In 1993, Mary founded the “Challenge Lab” which is a program where students can receive extra help with classes they struggle in and helps an enormous number of students reach their graduation goal. Mary has been the Challenge Lab teacher at OHS for the last 18 years of her career.

Many teachers have dedicated their lives to “making a difference." Mary Kant has lived it with gusto!

Hats off to someone who just “kept on keeping on” for all the right reasons and with none of the accolades. We should all applaud her dedication! The field of education will miss her! Enjoy your retirement, Mary! You deserve it!
