For over 25 years, the Oswegoland Optimist Club has been providing Christmas to families in need in Oswego School District 308.
This year the need was even greater. Through the efforts of the club, community and local business, the Oswegoland Optimist Club was able to provide food and gifts to 82 families and 222 children! This year the club distributed 1275 pounds of turkey, 425 pounds of potatoes, 340 pounds of sugar, 340 pounds of oranges, 255 pounds of apples, 255 pounds of onions, 85 pounds of butter, 85 pounds of stuffing, 85 pounds of carrots, 85 loaves of bread, 1200 candy canes and over 1100 Christmas presents!
The Optimist Club of Oswegoland has provided activities for the children of Oswego, Illinois for over 30 years! With over 100 members volunteering their time to work with the youth of our community, the club always has something to keep busy
