The following announcement was submitted by John Vann.
On Saturday, Oct. 15, a huge event is taking place here at Oswego High School! Eight seniors are hosting a Dance Marathon from noon to midnight in the gymnasium to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
St. Jude is a charity dedicated to finding cures for diseases like cancer, as well as supporting children and young adults who have severe illnesses. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where no child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. The survival rates in children with cancer have gone from 20 percent, when the hospital first opened, to 80 percent, but they are still searching for an absolute cure.
