
The following was provided by the village of Oswego.
The Emerald Ash Borer was found in the Village of Oswego in 2010. Public Works crew began removing the Emerald Ash Borer infested trees Monday in Herrens Run.
Sometime in February, schedule and weather permitting, Public Works will continue to remove the Emerald Ash Borer infested trees in Fox Chase and Gates Creek. As positive sightings are found, trees will be removed as necessary in other subdivisions. Public Works will place signage in the subdivisions that they are in on that specific day.

In September 2010, suspected Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) was reported in Oswego and subsequently confirmed by Illinois Department of Agriculture inspectors.
