Annual Christmas Walk Filled with Activities
Your guide to Oswego's holiday festival weekend.

The village's annual Christmas Walk celebration kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday with the downtown tree lighting and runs through Sunday. Here's a full schedule of events by time and day.
Friday, Dec. 2
5 p.m. Oswego Village President Brian LeClercq lights the village's Christmas tree next to the old Fire Barn. The musical group Spotlight will provide musical accompaniment.
5 to 8:30 p.m. The Oswego Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Silent Auction at the Masonic Lodge, 71 Washington St. The auction will benefit the Oswegoland Optimist Club's . 6 to 8:30 p.m. The ever-present Santa Claus will be at this year, so time to get those Christmas wish lists ready.
7 p.m. The silent, firetruck parade will make its way down Main Street. Trucks from Oswego and other local fire departments will participate.

Throughout the evening Activities include toyland train rides, the sledding hill (giant slide), ice skating rink, ice carving demonstrations, strolling carolers and characters, holiday music, kids crafts and games, food vendors and shopping opportunities. The will host crafts music and treats. will be the spot to enjoy a ride on the Belgian Draft Horse Hay Ride. Also, don't forget the at the old Fire Barn.
Saturday, Dec. 3
8 a.m. The annual will be held at the Oswego 308 Center. A sausage and pancake breakfast will be served in the Senior Center building from 8 to 11 a.m. After that, walk through the building to the Oswego Family YMCA to play games, make crafts and have your picture taken with Santa! The cost is $4 per person. Children 2 and younger are free.
Tickets can be purchased at the Oswego Family YMCA, the Garden Faire, or any Oswegoland Park District office. Also at this event, donations of coats, hats, mittens and gloves will be accepted for the Oswego Rotary Club's annual .
9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oswegoland Park District is bringing back favorite vendors from the . Look for the Country Market inside the old fire barn on Main Street. Find those specialty items that you loved last summer, including olives and hummus, olive oil and vinegars, cheesecake, farm fresh eggs, handmade soap and candles, dog treats, and warm mini donuts. Cutting Edge sharpening service will be there, as well, so bring your cutlery and have it ready for the holidays.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The annual Holiday Cookie Walk will take place in downtown at participating merchants. Purchase a holiday tin and then visit all of the shops for a homemade holiday cookie.
7 p.m. The Oswego Playhouse will present the holiday classic under the Tap House Grill. Tickets are available by calling 630-554-3618 or before each performance. Show times are also scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4

9 a.m. The third annual starts and ends at the Oswego Family YMCA and will take place rain, snow or shine. Families are invited to dress up in their holiday wearables.Reindeer ears, blinking lights, Santa hats and more are all acceptable fun accessories! Bells will be handed out to participants while supplies last. This is not an awards event. Registration is required by Dec. 3. Stop by the YMCA for a registration form.
4 p.m. The Village of Oswego's annual will start with a light dinner, catered by the Village Grind at the Oswego Village Hall at 4 p.m. Then from 5 to 8 p.m. participants will take the tour to each of the four decorated houses on this year’s list.
