Bitter Cold, Below-Zero Temps: Where To Find Warming Centers In Oswego

If you find yourself without heat this week, there are several warming centers in and around Oswego.

OSWEGO, IL — Temperatures are expected to be "bitterly cold" this week in Oswego, and after last week's snowstorms, no precipitation is expected, according to the National Weather Service.

The week is off to a cold start, with a high of only 5 degrees expected Monday night. Tuesday could be similar, with a high of 19 degrees during the day and 7 degrees at night forecast, Patch reported.

Temperatures will warm slightly on Wednesday and Thursday, which have respective highs of 29 and 35 degrees, but a "reinforcing shot of cold air" will move into the area on Thursday night, resulting in a high of 17 degrees Friday, according to the weather service.

In the Chicagoland area, the coldest temperatures are expected in the north, with minus 10 to minus 15 expected for the Waukegan area, and 0 to minus 5 expected for the Chicago and Joliet areas, Patch reported.
